Baby Boy Quilt

Today I wish I was in Texas. My best friend (since about the 7th grade) is having her baby shower for her first baby - A Boy named Owen. I'm so excited for her and wish I could be there to help celebrate!! I made a quilt for her baby and I thought I'd share it with my bloggy friends. Even though I royally screwed up on the pattern (NO idea how I managed that) I still think it turned out cute. Hillary - I hope you like it and hope you had a GREAT time at your shower today!! I can't wait to meet Mr. Owen.

Cheap Chicks

My Sister-in-Law, Sarah, has started a new blog dedicated to saving money and finding good deals. As most of you know, this is right up my alley! Who doesn't love a good deal? I wanted to share her new blog with all of you and let you know I'll be contributing good deals over on her site as well. Check it out! http://bargainlovincheapchicks.blogspot.com/

Me and My Boy

This past weekend my Aunt Wendie was in town for a scrapbook convention. Rocklin and I met up with her to hang out for a bit and say hello. Unfortunately I forgot my camera, so I don't have any pictures of us with Wendie, but she did snap this one and Rocklin looked so darn cute in it that I had to share. Thanks, Wendie. We loved visiting with you!

Help!

So I found this cute new header I decided to use on my blog. Problem is, I can't seem to figure out how to put my blog name & description in the cute little white picture frame within the header. I know someone out there has to know and would be willing to help me. :) I've seen a million people customize their headers, but I can't seem to figure it out. Any words of wisdom? (Oh, and thanks for reminding me, Val, here's where I got this cute header and background from: http://www.shabbyblogs.com/).

Too Cute!

I've been wanting to make a diaper cake for some time now, but just haven't taken the time to do it. Tomorrow I'm headed to a baby shower for a friend of mine who is having a baby boy, so I thought I'd finally make one. I think it turned out so cute!! It was really easy to make and I think this might be the first of many diaper cakes I make.

Here it is "naked" before I added all the goodies. I actually kind of like it like this. (And next time I think I may just just plain white diapers - these diapers happen to have a print on them).

And here it is all finished.

Here is the backside. I attached some burp cloths that I made. I wasn't sure how to attach them, so I just tied them on the back.

I hope she likes it!!

Happy Easter!

Today was a beautiful Easter Sunday for us. We started the day off at a wonderful church service and then came home and prepared for an Easter dinner and egg hunt with Adam's side of the family. Rocklin had a LOT of fun at the egg hunt...so much fun in fact that we couldn't even get one picture of him looking at the camera with his Elmo Easter basket.
We are very blessed to live by so many of Adam's siblings and love every single one of them. We certainly missed our family who live far away and hope all of you enjoyed your Easter celebrations as well! Thanks to The Crowder's for having us all over at their house this year.

Daddy and Rocklin enjoying some after church cuddle time.
Daddy and Rocklin headed out to hunt for eggs.
He found one!
This is about as close as we got to a picture with him semi-looking at the camera.
Rocklin, Daddy and cousin Tyler looking for eggs.
Shaking eggs...I wonder what's inside!
Some of the cousins and Aunt Kristie checking out the goods. That's Rylee looking at the camera. Rylee was so cute and SO excited for the Easter egg hunt!
The guys hanging out on the sidelines. (Andy, Tyler, Kameron, Adam and Rocklin)
Rocklin being helped out by his cousin Kayla. Kayla is always a big helper with Rocklin.
Rocklin's cousin Luke - all smiles! (Luke is almost exactly one year older than Rocklin. They are good buddies. Rocklin loves going to his house to play).
Happy Easter!

30 ain't that bad

So yesterday I turned 30. 30...can you believe it??!! I gotta be honest, I was feeling anxious about turning 30 for a little while. I'm not sure why, age is just a number, right? Anyway, Adam made my birthday so fun yesterday and I'm starting to think that maybe 30 ain't that bad after all. I mean, I am married to a wonderful man, I have a beautiful son, and I'm living my happily ever after! Life is good. Life isn't perfect, but it is very, very good.

I received some fun presents yesterday. The day started when Adam gave me home a dozen red roses and a birthday card with some money for shopping. yeah!!

Then Rock and Adam and I had a little dance party in the living room. Check out this cute video of Rocklin dancing (sorry the video is sideways...not sure how to turn it):

Adam had arranged for his sister Katie and her husband Tyler to watch Rocklin overnight so we could have an evening to ourselves. (THANK YOU KATIE & TYLER!!!!). I'm sure Rocklin enjoyed having lots of playtime with some of his cousins, and we were able to enjoy a night out alone. We first went to the movies (saw Fast & the Furious...Vin Diesel in tight shirt for two hours...now that's a great birthday present) and then went to a fantastic steak dinner. It was our first time at this particular steakhouse, so the manager brought us over a free shrimp cocktail appetizer. And, since it was my birthday, we also received a huge piece of cheesecake on the house! Score! The fillet was incredible and I have to say, it was the best meal I've had in a loooooong time. Then after dinner we went shopping and I bought a couple of things with my birthday money. Afterwards, we came home and enjoyed a quiet hot tub. We picked up Rocklin this morning. What a fun birthday!! Thanks to all my family and friends who helped make it special.

In case you were wondering...

...what I spend my days doing, now you know! Cleaning up after Rocklin is a full time job!!
He usually starts in the kitchen pulling out all the Ziploc baggies - sippy cup is a dead giveaway he's been here very recently! He grabs a couple of baggies on his way out and leaves a trail of baggies to his next mess. (Oh, and see how small of an area this floor space is? Yes folks, that is my entire kitchen. You're jealous, aren't you??!!).
Then he moves on to the bathroom where he just loves to grab the q-tips out of the drawer and throw them every which way. Look how he's on his tippy toes grabbing anything and everything he can before I grab him and pull him away!

Wish List

This book just came out, and I really, really want it. Does anyone out there already have it? Is it worth buying or should I just borrow a copy from the library?

And on a side note, this is my official 200th post. You'd think I'd have something a little more exciting to share for #200, but nope...Martha it is.
