I always comment about how Rocklin is part child, part monkey. Well, today he proved my point. He earned himself a time-out (which he get for climbing up on my desk while I'm working and he knows better). I put him in his bed and told him I would come and get him out in 5 minutes. Well, about 2 minutes later, I hear a knocking on his door. I go in, and sure enough, he had climbed out of his crib! I put him right back in his crib and grabbed the camera so I could get this on tape. Looks like we'll be switching to the toddler bed a little earlier than I would have hoped! (And it probably doesn't help that I'm laughing at him while he's climbing out!!).

I'm so sorry...But I am laughing real hard!!!
he is amazing! my thoughts:
change time out spot, otherwise you will just encourage him climbing out. If it is only for sleep, then maybe it will limit playing/climbing out...? Try not to give up the crib just yet, b/c he still has to learn that going to bed means staying in the bed. I think that comes around 3yrs. ( Can you tell I have been reading the book written by SupperNanny?)
Bottom line: Good Luck!
Wow...that's crazy. Gracie never got out of her crib. In fact the other day she was in time out and wouldn't stay so I put her in Bennett's crib for the time out and she stayed the whole time. It worked pretty good.
Haha, that is why I moved my kids out of their cribs before they were two! I thought if I let it get to the point where they are base jumping from their crib, odds are they'll get more hurt than if I just give them free reign of a baby proofed bedroom! People thought I was crazy, but this video is thinking maybe I wasn't totally absurd! :)
Haha I am so waiting for this day with Ashlyn so my camera is always on the counter! he is too cute!
oh and have you ever heard of a crib tent? I plan on getting one for Ashlyn when she figures out how to escape. The triplets I nanny had them and they are awesome! Mesh "tent" that you zip up and they cant get out. We took Jeffrey out of his crib way to early and he didnt get into trouble, where as Ashlyn is into everything so a tent is how we will go till she is 4 :) haha
sorry, but that is funny!! I wish I got Janalee climbing out of her crib on tape. Janalee learned how to climb out of her crib when we moved down here, so she has already moved her to a big bed. Plus Parker needed the crib. I have heard of the netting that goes over the crib, my peds doc said they are wonderful, just keep a pair of scissors taped to the wall in case you had to get them out in a hurry and the zipper got stuck.
So, that's how they do it! Great catch on the camera.
gotta love it...we just switched Madi to a toddler bed a little bit ago, The issue there is that you have problems keeping them in it!!
I'm glad I waited to comment so I could see what others left. I know it's silly, b/c he's only barely starting to roll over, but this is one of my big fears... I hadn't even thought about a crib tent!
You've got one cute monkey there, Kristen!
