Fancy Pants

I know seersucker isn't necessarily a "winter" fabric, but here in the Birkmeyer household we tend to break the fashion rules if something is especially cute. I bought Rocklin this adorable 3 piece seersucker suit a while back in Georgia and it's just now fitting him. I'm SO excited for him to wear it to church. Poor kid, I made him suffer through a photo shoot tonight with just the jacket on. As you can tell from these pictures, he's defiantly getting his own little personality these days!! Now all he needs to complete the outfit are some cute shoes. He's going to be such a ladies man in the nursery!

A Letter to Paul

Dear Paul,

Wow, where does the time go. It's be three years today since you left us and I feel like I was talking and laughing with you just the other day. I just wanted to pay tribute to you today and let you know that I am thinking of you. I reread my journal entry from the night I found out you had left us and my heart aches. I sobbed uncontrollably that night. I couldn't even find the words to explain how I felt. I remember you text me a couple nights before and told me you loved me. The next day I sent you an email and asked why you texted me in the middle of the night. You said you had had a really hard couple of weeks and you wanted me to know that you were thinking of me. I remember emailing you back saying that I would call you over the weekend. I am not sure if you ever got that email, but I did want you to know that I was thinking of you too. I miss you, Paul.

I remember the last time I saw you. I was visiting Texas and you dropped me off at the airport for my flight home. You parked illegally and a parking attendant told you to move your car. You just ignored her so that you could give me a hug goodbye. She kept yelling at you to move and you kept ignoring her. For some reason it was so funny. Everything with you was like that - just every day situations made so much more fun because you were there. I miss you, Paul.

I can't wait until I can see you again someday and introduce you to my beautiful son and wonderful husband. I think you'd really like them. You have the greatest friends and family. I remember at your funeral the church was packed wall-to-wall with people and then some. I wonder if you knew how many people's life you touched. I bet if you did, you'd still be with us here today. I miss you, Paul.

You were one of my best friends. I will never forget you. I miss you, Paul.

Love,

Kristen

Halloween, Part Two

Last night we had a fun time at our ward's Trunk-or-Treat activity. Rocklin got to dress up in his new dinosaur costume. He looked so cute!

Mom, how long do I have to wear this ridiculous big green costume for?

Go-to

This is Rock's go-to position for comfort - when he's eating, sleeping, being held, etc. I just thought it was cute. And by the way, I haven't really had a whole lot going on lately...at least not anything too "blog worthy" so for now you'll just have to deal with looking at pictures of my cute kid. :)

Halloween, Part One

So I bought this dinosaur Halloween costume for Rocklin the other day. I was so excited to try it on him and come to find out, it's too small! I took pictures of him in it anyway because it was to funny not to. Today we went out and got a new costume that fits (and is even cuter). As soon as I can wrangle him down to put it on him and take pictures, I'll be sure to post them.

Bath Time Fun

Rocklin sure does love his nightly bath! Last night we had fun with him and even took a video of him going crazy in the tub. I tried to upload it, but can't seem to get it to work, so for now these cute pictures will have to do.

Our Little Monkey

I recently bought Rocklin some cute new monkey jammies. He looks so cute in them (even though they are a little big)! Here he is fresh from the bath in his new jammies:

Still here...

Yes, folks, we are still here. Alive and well, actually. I just haven't had anything especially noteworthy to blog about lately.
The weather here in Arizona is starting to get perfect...reminding me that living in Arizona isn't that bad after all! I am excited to take walks with Rocklin in the mornings and asking for an outside table when we eat out.
I am excited because the slight chill in the air reminds me that my favorite holidays are on the way! Halloween, Thanksgiving & Christmas. Three months of pure fun, shopping, eating and family!
Doesn't get much better than that.

Christmas Cards!

I love Christmas! And I love to send out Christmas cards! Last year I was so bummed because I didn't get to send out cards due to the fact that I was huge and pregnant, on bed rest and tired all.the.time. This year I am so excited for Christmas!! I got a head start on making some Christmas cards this year and thought I'd surprise everyone with some homemade goodness. Then I found out that my sister-in-law Katie is having a silent auction to raise money for her MS walk coming up. I decided to donate my cards to the cause...so don't be mad if you end up getting a store bought card from me this year...remember the thought was there. :)
(To find out more about Katie's efforts in raising money to support MS research, click HERE).

I think this one is my favorite:Thanks for letting me share!
